Nigeria seizes plane carrying weapons
It was reported that a Russian plane which fled into Nigeria and landed at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), has been seized. Security operatives at the airport discovered that the air plane has been carrying heavy ammunition such as numerous AK47 rifles, bullet proof vests two helicopters. PM news reported that the plane, which was bound for N’djamena, Chad Republic, landed at the airport around 2.15a.m. on Saturday.
Mr Yakubu Datti, who is the General Manager of Communication, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), confirmed the report and said that the plane had a technical fault and made the decision to land at the airport.
The plane had a technical problem and the pilot sought for permission to land at the airport’’, he said.
