NCC - Saturday, April 18, 2015

A pastor at Tungan-Maje, an Abuja suburb was on Wednesday arraigned before an Abuja Upper Area Court sitting at Zuba for allegedly defiling his friend’s 11-year-old daughter.
The police prosecutor, Momoh Ibrahim, told the court that the 45-year-old pastor committed the offence of gross indecency contrary to Section 285 of the Penal Code.
He said a neighbour of the accused, who happens to be his friend, had reported at the Zuba Police Station on March 23 that the accused took his daughter into his room on two occasions between 2014 and 2015, where he had carnal knowledge of her.
The prosecutor further informed the court that after the incident, the girl, aged 11, was taken to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital at Gwagwalada for medical examination.
When the charge was read to the accused, he denied the allegation and asked for bail.
Judge Aminu Sa’ad granted his bail application and adjourned the case till April 24 for hearing.
