DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF (RF) BASED WATER LEVEL INDICATOR AND CONTROLLER SYSTEM

BY
ENGR. EZIKA, CHIMEZIE PAUL

This project is conducted to design and develop an RF based water level indicator/controller system that is fully automated using PIC microcontroller to Perform tasks such as activating a 240 volts single phase ground water pump when water level at the overhead tank falls to (25%), and deactivate the same ground water pump once the overhead tank water level gets to (100%). The data communication between the over head tank and the controller is achieved wirelessly using radio frequency (RF).

Objectives of Project:

(1) To save valuable time,
(2) To save power,
(3) To protect the building and environment from water spills,
(4) To be able to monitor the water level of an over head tank,
(5) To maintain efficient water supply,
(6) To avoid water wastage,
(7) To create a fully automated and autonomous water level control system,
(8) To inform the operator/user of the exact water level in an overhead tank in percentage,
(9) To process and display the water pump conditions (active mode) or (off mode) state,
(10) To wirelessly transmit data from an overhead tank to the receiver/controller placed up to 100m away,
(11) To effectively manage water supply for domestic and industrial applications,
(12) To make use of PIC microcontroller as the brain of the control system,

To contribute to water availability, reliability and efficiency in Nigeria was the main motivating factor for this work. This project is to make a prototype of a microcontroller and radio frequency based water level indicator/controller system which automatically sense accurately the water level of an overhead tank and automatically activate or deactivate a single phase water pump for industrial and domestic applications. Using this system, one can remotely monitor and control the water level of an overhead tank that is placed up to 100 metres away. The system features an RF transmitter-receiver pair, doing away with the need to run wires from the roof to ground.

How To Set Any Picture As Your BBM/WHATSAPP Display Picture Without Cropping

NCC - Sunday, April 19, 2015
BBM display pictures/avatars or “DPs” as they are called in this parts are a huge deal apparently. With newer BlackBerry devices andmost other devices now taking pictures in the 16:9 format rather than the 4:3 by default, sizing pictures into the square “window” provided has become an issue but have no fear, there are easy ways to go about it.

First method
There is an app for that. Profile w/o cropping on android fits your display pictures no matter the size, aspect ratio or orientation into the square box provided for your display picture. You can download the app off Google play name "profile without cropping"

2nd-method=

If you are old school and do not want to go the app route, here is a quick tip, while viewing the picture you want to use, turn your device 90 degrees (make sure your orientation lock isn’t on) and take a screenshot. Try to use the screenshot, you will be able to fit the whole picture.

Google Search Now Helps You Find Your Lost Android Phone

NCC - Saturday, April 18, 2015

Need to find a vanilla frosting recipe? Google it. Need to find out how many Yankees are in the hall of fame? Google it. Need to find your Android phone? Google it?

Yep.

Google recently brought parts of the Android Device Manager to Google search. When you're signed in to the same Google account on your phone and PC, all you have to do is type "find my phone" into Google and your top result will be a live Google Map with the locations of your Android devices.

The new feature only allows you to call your phone. You can't use the Google search result to wipe your device or lock it like you can inside Android Device Manager.

The impact on you at home: For those times when you're pulling up couch cushions desperately trying to find your smartphone or tablet, the new feature will come in handy. Officially, you can only find your device in Google on a PC. But if you need to use your tablet to find your phone (or vice versa), you can use Chrome for Android's Request desktop site option to the get new search feature to work on your mobile device.

How it works

Although it sounds easy enough, using Google search to find your phone isn't quite as simple as typing in a query and waiting for the top result (although it's close).

As with ADM, you need to sign in again for security purposes the first time you search for "find my phone." Once that's done, Google search will reveal the locations of your Android devices.

The location map includes a drop-down menu in the top right corner to choose which of your Android devices you'd like to find. Once you've asked Google to find the location of your phone, you'll see a notification on your phone or tablet letting you know Android Device Manager requested its location.

Google's search feature is pretty smart too. It will work if you type in "find my phone" or "find my tablet." "My phone is lost" worked, too. More specific searches like "find my Nexus 5" didn't bring up the new feature.

The new search feature is live now on Google.com, but your Android devices also need the latest version of the Google app before "find my phone" will work.

How To Boost Your Android Speed 5x Faster - See The Secret Here

NCC - Saturday, April 18, 2015
==>First, you’ll need to enable access to the hidden “Developer options” menu on your Android phone. To do that, simply tap the “About phone” option in Settings. Then tap “Build number” seven times and you’re done. Now you can just back out to the main Settings menu and you’ll find Developer options somewhere near the bottom of the list.

==>Now that you’re done with that part, let the real fun begins. Tap the new Developer options menu you just enabled and scroll until you see the following three settings (note that they may be located within an “Advanced” subsection):

Window animation scale
Transition animation scale
Animator animation scale

==>Did you see them? By default, each of those three options is set to “1x” but tapping them and changing them to “.5x” will dramatically speed up your phone. This harmless tweak forces the device to speed up all transition animations, and the entire user experience is faster and smoother as a result.

If you are able to this, you are the boss… if not, your Android device is still your boss.

Facebook: New app that turns text into a pop song

NCC - Wednesday, March 25, 2015

Following Facebook’s announcement that its messenger service will be open to third party developers at the F8 developer’s conference on Wednesday 25th March, an app that turns texts to a pop song has been launched to run on the Facebook messenger platform.
Zya Ditty is the new app on the block. It is a text-to-autotune generator that lets you compose up to a 70-character message, pick a background song from among several popular, recognizable tunes.
After picking the song, Ditty puts together a music clip and video to accompany your song. Developers say the music video will be a 20 seconds text based music video collated for listeners to have fun.
Developers of the app say it will be available for free in the iOS App Store and Google Play store later today.
The essence of Ditty is to create an avenue to have fun and enjoy music; a representative of Ditty told journalists during their media briefing.
A demo is shown in the video below.
